You've signed up for your mini session -- now what?
 

 

What to expect
 

When you arrive at the location you will be greeted and guided to the spot where we'll be taking photos.

I'll ask you to do a some of the smiling at the camera photos to loosen up.  Then we will have some silly fun and laugh together to really capture that authentic connection within your family.  (Be sure to look at your loved ones during this time!).  By that point we'll have some really genuine photos of your family and you'll receive a wonderful mixture for you to treasure.

What if my kid/s misbehave?

I will tell you now - this is a normal fear.  You think "I just invested time and money in this photo shoot and I'm afraid my child is going to scream, throw a tantrum, not pay attention, etc and none of our pictures will turn out".  Am I right?  

Here are some tips.  First of all, if your child isn't behaving the way you hoped it's okay.  Take a deep breath and try not to resort to stressing out and yelling at your child as it often makes it worse during a photo shoot.  Trying to maintain a calm atmosphere can go a long way. I've worked with children my entire life, be it through babysitting, teaching, volunteering/working at schools, my own children, etc...  I've seen a lot of chaos.  My approach is to distract, deter, and engage in something fun or different.  Together we can turn it into a positive experience.  

In the end, kids will be who they are and how they feel.  It's completely normal, and part of what we're trying to capture is authenticity.  We don't want fake smiles.  We want to see the natural interaction of your child with the rest of the family.  Believe me -- you'll be pleasantly surprised at the photos you receive.

Other steps to help create an environment of success for your child.  Let them know earlier in the day that you'll be doing something fun and taking pictures with a new friend (I find when they expect to see the 'picture lady' or whatever you would like to call me) they open up a bit easier.  If your child naps and your session is closer to bedtime, try to push nap time later.  Bring a (clean!) snack and some water in case your child needs a quick break to relax.  Some families will make a little event out of it and grab dessert or go to a playground afterwards for fun.  The sky is the limit!

When will I receive my photos?

Within 2 weeks of your mini session you will receive an email with a link to your private online gallery.  In that gallery there will be 20 photos (color and b&w) and you will have the ability to select and download 5 of them.  There will be an option to purchase the rest of the gallery if you wish as well as prints/canvases.

**(Inclement weather reschedule date is: Saturday, June 12th. Your session time will remain the same. If that date also has inclement weather, a new date and time will be determined.)
 

What will you receive?
- 5 edited digital photos of your choosing: high resolution digital files in a private and secure online gallery.
- Option to purchase full gallery.
- High quality prints/canvases are also available: These come from a trusted professional printer and are much higher quality than other companies you might be familiar with.

How much does this cost?
- $175 for 15 minute session, 5 edited digital photos of your choosing
- $100 non-refundable deposit (applied to the final balance).  Final balance is due the week of the mini session.
- $35 to purchase the full digital package of 15 photos (color and b&w).  All of the images will be hand edited.
- High quality prints and canvases are also available for purchase.  Pricing will be available in online gallery.
