Hi friend!
Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve blogged! What have I been up to lately, you ask?
Well, throughout 2021 I participated in a photography mastermind group led by my mentor Elena S. Blair. Not only did we dive deep into the photography world, learning new business skills and the joys of sharing a community together, but we also worked on ourselves. We had space and time to spend discovering more of who we are and how that intertwines with our photography. It was amazing to spend a year with other talented women while learning and growing as a group.
The culmination of this amazing time occurred in the form of a Mastermind Retreat in Seattle at the end of January 2022. Best. Experience. Ever!
We spent two full days together enjoying being with each other as more than a head in a tiny zoom box. The common response when we met each other was "I didn't know you were taller/shorter than the other!" haha We experienced rejuvenation time through a meditation and also through a lovely sound bath. Those are quite relaxing. I highly recommend trying one out sometime. We also had two shooting demos led by extremely talented photographers, and one included a new mother and her baby. I love witnessing the deep connection between a mother and newborn, which is part of why I adore newborn sessions!
Another awesome aspect of the trip was that 15 of us rented a fancy AirBnB by a lake and let me tell you, it was so relaxing! We spent time exploring Pike Market - such a fun and unique place. We were sure to watch the fish throwing as it's pretty impressive! We also went to the iconic Space Needle, and as photographers, what time of day do you think we went? Yep, Golden Hour! Catching the sun setting over the water is something I highly recommend, as it is so calming and magical.
With all of that said, I am so grateful for the experience I had with my new community of photographer friends. Stay tuned for my next adventure in CA directly following the retreat...
